Who doesn’t want a productive, kick A$$ week?
Those are the types of weeks I strive for every Monday. But the interesting part is that preparing for the week isn’t done on Monday morning, but rather on Sunday evening!
Sunday evening is the best time to start getting ready for the week through your mind, body, and home. So instead of dreading the week to come, try spending some time to get yourself ready to kick butt the upcoming week.
Here are 4 things to do on Sunday to have a super productive week!
Plan your week
Planning your week can help you to put you in the right mindset for the upcoming days. It can help you to feel prepared come Monday morning as you already know what your week consists of.
Write down your goals, your tasks, your appointments, or whatever else you have going on in the week to help you start mentally preparing.
If you are worried about a task you need to get done, try writing down some notes on how you plan to tackle that problem. This helps to put your mind at ease as you now have a plan on how to move forward (this helps me enormously as I tend to worry and overthink things).
TRY: Using a bullet journal to write down your tasks for the week. I use this journal for my notes. Don’t know what bullet journaling is? Then check out this video!
Also TRY: Using Google Calendar or a note taking app like Evernote to record your notes or plans for the week, you can even invite others to view/edit your notes through Evernote!
Plan/Prep your meals
Planning/Prepping your meals for the week is a great way to have not only a productive week, but possibly a super healthy one at that.
By planning your meals on Sunday, you save time throughout the week by not having to worry about what’s for dinner. It has already been decided and possibly already made!
Planning your meals ahead can also save you time with groceries as you only have to visit the store once since you already know what you are eating for the week. Great way to have more time to be productive, get that workout in, clean the house, or practice some self-care!
My favorite way to plan my meals is through PlateJoy. Every Sunday PlateJoy creates a new menu for me for the week, along with a shopping list that I send straight to Instacart where my items are shopped for and delivered straight to my house. This has helped improve our diet, as well as saved us time and money! For more info check out this post!
TRY: Using a meal planning service like PlateJoy or take a look at Skinny Taste Meal Plans for some great ideas.
Get some chores done
Having a clean house on a Monday morning really helps you feel put together. As well as getting some chores done on Sunday night helps you feel super productive which can inspire you to get more done throughout the upcoming days! What a great way to start the week.
Completing chores on Sunday sets you up to have a seamless week. Doing your laundry will help you to have clothes for the week. Doing dishes eliminates havoc in the morning when getting coffee or making breakfast. Picking up the house will help Monday morning already feel productive as you are waking up to a clean and tidy house! All these small chores can make a big impact on your week.
TRY: An easy way to make your home smell amazing is to throw a pot on the stove with 2 sliced lemons, 2 sprigs of Rosemary, and a tablespoon of vanilla. Simmer on the stove all day (remembering to keep a watchful eye) and enjoy the aroma! Another trick is to pour two tablespoons of vanilla into a baking dish for 20 minutes at 300 degrees F.
Do that self care
Did someone say Self-care Sunday? Um Yes! Sundays are the perfect time to relax and take time to pamper yourself! Whether that’s through face masks and wine or getting in your favorite exercise.
Take time on Sunday to do something for yourself that will help reset your mind and body for the upcoming week. Sunday’s are the day I like to indulge in my favorites shows or that book I am reading. I give myself permission to be lazy and actually take time to relax!
Self care is one of the best things you can do to help set yourself up for a productive week.
TRY: These self care ideas
- Bake something delicious
- Drink some tea or coffee
- Meditate
- Read a new book
- Nap when needed
- Watch your favorite movie(s) or TV show
- Have a spa day (face mask, long bath, steamed shower)
- Write out your thoughts
- Light a candle or diffuse some oil
- Just take time for YOU!
Here’s to a productive week!!
